any JW construction going on other than Warwick?
by Magnum inis anybody aware of any kingdom hall builds going on or any kind of ldc activity?
i've been wanting to ask this, and committeechairman's question at the end of this thread, http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/289353/ldc-semininar?page=4&size=20, moved me to go ahead and ask.. i've kind of wondered whether the org leaders got rid of rbcs and instituted the ldc arrangement because they wanted to be able to stop or slow down construction without it being obvious.
if the rbcs were still in existence, it would be obvious that there's nothing (or almost nothing) going on (if that really is the way it is) because rbc personnel would be idle when they were used to being busy.

C T Russell's involvement with the Freemasons re-evaluated
by Finkelstein inhere is video someone put out that goes deep into c t russell's associated involvement with the freemasons.. there is no question that he drew out a good portion from this organization in creating some of his theological ideas.. being that it was j rutherford that helped to place a pyramid monument at his grave site indicates he could have been associated with the freemasons himself to a certain extent.

a cross and crown laid upon a cross pattee inscribed with "in hoc signo vinces" resting upon downward pointing swords in saltire is often used to represent the knights templar.

A lot of people mistake the Masonic community as a religion when in fact it is not a religion. Each one of the organizations is set up as a charity.
I can most definitely see why the WT would oppose a JW from being a member for two very big reasons if you are really into the Masonic community as I am you spend many hours a month and large sums of money doing charity work. I am sure WT wants both of those, your money is surely better spent sending it to those greedy, lying GB.

3rdgen,
Thank you for the detailed explanation of *date* I love it after 5 years of extensive phone calls 4 or 5 per day from him, meeting for meals (alone) and long walks as I drove through the state he lived in, many emails the "Elder " referred to all this as mentoring and counciling. Oh and the hugs and kisses were "only ever gave you a compassionate hug once when I thought you were suicidal and I never kissed you." And that got an instant response because I have never ever been close to being suicidal, I told him I am a mighty strong woman and can deal with just about anything life puts in front of me after I lost my son 35 years ago.

I am fair game. Never a JW but here are your obstacles that you would have to overcome to convince me to become a JW and in this order
1. Absolutely will not tolerate lying in any format, I am Italian and tend to go balistics when I catch anyone lying.
2. I am a child's advocate. Includes sex abuse, physical abuse, and emotional abuse. I advocate for higher education for all children. I promote all forms of after school activities for enrichment of the arts and sports.
3. I am a women's advocate. I do charity work for abuse shelters and advocacy groups.
4. I am deeply involved in the Masonic community, actually a member of 3 different groups at this time. Have been involved for well over 40 years.
5. I believe in God and I am very spiritual but I do not believe in religion as they are all man made. I believe that had God created religion there would have been only one thus we would not have had all these Religious Wars. God wants us to love one another, get along and take care of each other and this planet.
6. I am not Gay but I do support the Gay community.

A Landlord Glimpse on Tenant’s Property
by Loi_241 inwhen i look back, i wish that a landlord glimpse on my property and so she does not want more than me renting her home.
but, i still do not have a wish because she wants more money; she does not have to be satisfied to what she has.
and so a landlord commanded me to give the exact gifts, not let me to be a generous tenant to give whatever is from my heart.

You need to watch landlords very closely they think they can steal from you and in some cases they figure they are above the law. As a tenant make yourself aware of what you tenant/landlord laws are and don't be afraid to quote them. -

No Soliciting signage and JW Policy
by Oubliette indoes anyone have a copy of the boe letter directing publishers to not go into apartment complexes and/or condominium complexes with no soliciting signs?
i ask because yesterday and buttheaded jw (that obviously had no idea who i am or my past) was knocking on doors in our condo complex.
he would have had to drive past a sign which clearly states "no solicitation or material distribution.".

Because I work from home and spend a lot of time on the phone right next to the door bell I had a very large in big print Absolutely NO Soliciting sign. So they would knock instead. I would answer the door with Can you NOT read? Pointing to the sign. Followed by Good bye. Of course that was before I knew about the child abuse now they get questions. -

Where the real abuse lies.
by ctrwtf inlet me start with a disclaimer: i am in no way minimizing the horrific crimes done to children by pedophiles.
i'm not downplaying the number of lives lost due to the blood issue, or hearts broken because of shunning.
i do not want to discount the feelings of those who have come to the end of their lives with expectations of paradise postponed.. but to me the biggest atrocity committed by this awful cult is raising children from a small age to believe that soon god will kill billions of people.

Never a JW but the "Elder" gave me the book on Families to see how I would react. I read the part on raising children and as a child advocate I did REACT. It was not pretty. That book alone had red flags glaring all through it.
Some of the cartoons are red herrings. Most of them are abusive. I believe it was this past January or February had I of been a parent in a KH when it was aired I would not have needed a mic to been heard I would have instantly made it known how totally inappropriate that cartoon was for the children and any adult parent who passes that teaching on to their children are equally abusive.
I have said before and I will say again this religion should be reserved for MEN ONLY, leave the children and women at home.

My experience with some ex-JW Christians
by opusdei1972 incurrently i can accept the existence of "god" if you say that "god" is a superior rational being.
i support the idea for the existence of superior beings living in other places.
it means to me that we, humans, are not the superior ones in the universe.

opusdei1972Don't get me wrong, I think there is a lot of good sound advise in the Bible. Especially if you read it to live a life of high morals, to love one another and to take care of your neighbor.
I am now in my 60's but I placed on my wall as a teenager a poem which I read twice a day when I rise in the morning and before going to bed. It has been made into a song and there is a book out now that takes every line of the poem and ties it to many verses in the Bible.
